Piran's Shop
At Piran Pewter we produce all our own designs, some pieces
are based on ancient traditional designs and some are completely new but with
a Celtic feel to them. Once the designs are cast in lead free pewter they are
carefully hand polished to the glorious deep shine that is unique to pewter.
When finished they are all delivered in smart presentation boxes which complement
the allure of the pewter. Details of the history of each design are included
in the box as well as information on how to care for pewter.
Modern pewter (European Standard EN611) is an alloy, mainly composed of tin
with small additions of copper and antimony to add to it strength. Contrary
to popular belief it does not contain lead. Although tin is no longer mined
in Cornwall as it was in centuries past it is a plentiful natural resource world-wide
and tin mining has very little effect on the environment. Pewter cannot flake
or tarnish. To keep pewter looking its best it should be washed in warm soapy
water and dried with a soft cloth. If it develops a patina, the original finish
can be restored with a non abrasive wadding type metal polish. Please do not
use abrasive cleaners.
We have selected our most popular designs for our shop and
we now have secure on-line ordering so that you can select your goods and use
your credit card to pay for them in complete confidence. We do not store any
credit card details or other sensitive information at www.piranpewter.co.uk.
All transactions are processed by Protx, who use bank approved software and
the highest level of encryption to ensure that your credit card details are
kept secure at all times. The Protx certificate may be viewed by clicking on
the padlock at the bottom of the payment pages.
We're sure that you'll be pleased with anything that you buy
from us but if, for any reason, you're not satisfied email
customerservice@piranpewter.co.uk or use any
of the methods you find on the 'Contact us' Page. If we can't arrange a replacement
that suits you we'll be happy to make a refund.
Our prices are quoted in £ sterling. If you are ordering
from outside the UK and would like to know the rate of exchange with your own
currency you will find a link on each page to www.xe.com where you can get an
up to the minute conversion, to give you an approximate idea of what you will be charged by your credit card company.
Please use your browser's "back" button to return to the Shop. Your goods will be despatched to reach you within
10 days. Claims for non-delivery should be made within 28 days. We will do our
best to fulfill your order and will let you know in the unlikely event that
certain designs are not available, so please give us a daytime telephone number
if you can.
Postage charges are £2.50 to the
UK and £3.50 everywhere else, regardless of the size of the order.
